The telescopes from Intes and Intes Micro of Moscow, Russia have generated great interest in Europe, Japan, and the United States since their introduction to the market. This is not without good reason. The telescopes from these companies have outstanding optical qualities formerly only available from a select few companies at much greater cost and in limited quantities.
Intes and Intes Micro were in the cold war days producers of high technology exclusive optics for the Russian military for applications on the ground and on space-based systems. The high level of optical technology stemmed from an almost limitless supply of spending for R&D for the military. This resulted in the establishment of an optical industry using the most up to date cutting edge technology for the production and testing of optical imaging surfaces. In addition, a cadre of skilled craftsmen, opticians, and optical and mechanical engineers were trained for these efforts. This technology, exotic materials, and skilled labor force are now available to the world with the advent of the free market in Russia and the Ukraine.
The telescopes from Intes and Intes Micro are not mass produced but rather--due to the large labor force and the high level of technology--optical systems are produced individually to the limits of physical optical principles. Diffraction limited becomes a real term in these telescopes.

The optics are housed in an attractive semi-gloss off-white tube with 10x50 finder, tube handle, and 2" crayford focuser. The separate focusing ensures zero image shift in the primary. The combination of optical and mechanical excellence results in magnificent diffraction-limited performance with a full 6" of aperture in a package weighing 9.5 pounds. 1/6 wavefront, 1/35 rms. Designed for wide flat-field astrophotography, CCD imaging and deep-sky observing, the instrument nevertheless gives excellent performance for lunar and planetary observing. The instrument places the corrector at the radius of curvature with the secondary at the focus. The resulting images are flawless across a wide flat field. Focusing is by a ball-bearing supported crayford focuser of 2" inside diameter. Appearance and fit and finish are identical to the MK 67. 10x50 finder included.The telescope comes in a padded black vinyl zippered carrying case.

INTES MN61: 6" F6 Maksutov-Newtonian Tube Assembly---------------------$1139Like the MK69, this instrument is designed for wide-field astrophotography, CCD imaging, and deep-sky observing but with a reduced secondary diameter for an obstruction of less than 20%. Focusing is by 2" Crayford and the unit comes with a 50mm finderscope, integral dewshield, and a set of clamp tube mounting rings standard. Primary and secondary mirrors of pyrex aluminized and overcoated with corrector of BK7 multi-layer coated. Total wavefront accuracy is 1/6 wave peak to valley. It features multi-coated and enhanced 6" F10 optics with a separate secondary and fully baffled tube interior (5 baffles). Focusing is accomplished by ball-bearing supported primary mirror movement with zero image shift. With strehl ratios in the 96 to 98% range, performance on lunar and planetary objects is flawless with refractor-like, tack sharp imaging. 10x50 finder, mirror star diagonal (1.25"), 30 mm Kellner eyepiece (1.25"), piggyback camera mount, complete dovetail mounting system and 2.4 power barlow (1.25") included.
